Vision, Values & Ethos

At Ellington Infant School, we believe that every child deserves exceptional teaching, meaningful learning experiences and the opportunity to flourish academically, socially and emotionally. We know that children learn best when they feel that they belong, believe in themselves and are supported to become the very best version of themselves.

Everything we do is underpinned by our vision:

Belong. Believe. Become.

These three commitments shape the culture of our school, the experiences we provide and the expectations we have of ourselves as professionals.

Our vision aligns with our school values of Community, Ambition, Determination and Success, and reflects our commitment to ensuring that every child leaves Ellington Infant School ready for the next stage of their education with a genuine love of learning.

Community

We belong together.

At Ellington, every child is known, valued and encouraged to play an active part in our school community. We teach children to care for one another, celebrate what makes us unique and understand the importance of kindness, respect and working together. We want every child and family to feel that they truly belong.

Ambition

We believe we can achieve.

We encourage our children to dream big, be curious and have high expectations of themselves. We provide ambitious learning experiences that inspire children to ask questions, explore new ideas and discover what they are capable of. At Ellington, we believe there should be no limits to what our children can achieve.

Determination

We keep going, even when things feel difficult.

Learning isn't always easy, and that's something we celebrate. We teach children to persevere, learn from mistakes and have the confidence to try again. Through encouragement, support and challenge, our children develop the resilience and independence they need to tackle new experiences with determination.

Success

We recognise how far we've come and look forward to what comes next.

Success looks different for every child. At Ellington, we celebrate progress, effort and achievement in all its forms. We want children to recognise their own successes, feel proud of what they achieve and leave us as confident learners who are ready for their next step.
